Who is “the Word” @ John 1:1?

Not God, but his son Jesus Christ. Verse 18 even says that no man has seen God. But the scriptures prove that man has seen Jesus. By the way, to say that when Jesus was on earth he was God in the flesh would contradict verse 18 and other statements Jesus made, particularly in the book of John Jesus said, :The father is greater than I"., "I do nothing on my own initiative, but the will of the one who sent me.", "I do the things pleasing to my Father."
