Did you know calling animals pets is insulting?

Lol these people are mad. I call my dog, dog, stupid, idiot, the mental(all in jest i love my dog!)...It does not understand just wags its tail and goes mad so how can calling them pets be insulting?! Its not like animals understand a word! Have heard it all now...what a bunch of mentalists!!!
