What is the difference between a Cardinal and Archbishop?

A cardinal is a title, a prince of the Church but may not have pastoral duties. An archbishop, on the other hand, is an office that oversees other bishoprics and parishes, a pastor above all other pastors in a designated territory. It's possible that an archbishop may also be appointed cardinal, or a cardinal a titular seat or territory but a cardinal's chief duty is to in the service of the Papal court in Rome.
